Selecting Card Stock v  Select only card stock recommended for use in electrophotographic or laser     printers, and store them according to the manufacturer’s recommendations.
v  Specify CARD as the media type for the tray in the Paper Menu. See
“Defining the Media Size and Type for a Tray” on page 47.
v  The cardstock must be stable at 392°F (200°C). Do not use card stock that
    emits hazardous emissions when heated.
v  Note that the creased, preprinted, and perforated card stock increases the
likelihood of jams. Loading Paper and Envelopes into the Printer You need to add paper to the printer whenever the printer issues a message
to prompt you. You can also add paper anytime the READY message is
displayed, the printer is off, or the printer is offline. It is possible to add paper
while the printer is printing, but only to trays that are below the tray the
printer is drawing its paper from. Otherwise jams will occur. For example, if
you have three 550-sheet trays installed and the printer is drawing paper from
Tray 2 (the middle tray), you can add paper to Tray 3 (the bottom tray), but
not Tray 1 or Tray 2.
Loading the 550-Sheet Paper Trays 1.   See “Selecting Paper and Other Printable Material” on page 31 for       information on media you can load.
2.   Lift the paper tray and slide it out of the printer. Place the paper tray on
a flat surface. Chapter 4. Paper Handling 37
