Hi my name is Sean and i am a 1st year mechatronics student.For my mechatronics project i have to create an auto-pilot based system for a model helicopter. The problem i have is trying to program the PIC = P16C74A. The helicopter consists of 4 ultrasonic recievers/transmitters at the bottom of the helicopter. These are used to find out the height at which the helicopter is flying at. This is to be done using a timer. The pic is used to program the transmitters to send out ultrasonic signals and then listen for them to return and the timer will stop. This is repeated for the other 3 transmitters/recievers. This is done so that we can find out if the helicopter is flying level and if not, this must be corrected somehow! The function of the helicopter is to take off and reach a height of 2m before flying forward for 10 seconds and then landing again without crashing.
