Located in Pasadena, California

A futuristic site for students of all ages.

 

If you are interested in gardening, permaculture or in living a more self-sufficient lifestyle, and would like take a tour of our fixer-upper, work-in-progress urban homestead, please make a reservation at least two weeks in advance.  We’d appreciate your letting us know if you decide to cancel.

 

Please be advised that our place is undergoing drastic renovation in both the yard and buildings - things are a bit helter skelter and our house is in much need of repair (i.e. house has a blue tarp on roof)!

VISITOR DAYS

Sunday 9 am – 5 pm

Monday 9 am – 5 pm

(Note: We are flexible on these preferred tour days.  We will gladly make exceptions if you are unable to fit these days within your schedule.)

To make a tour reservation please fill out the form provided below or call us at

626.795.8400.  Ask to speak with Anaïs.

If you can’t make it for scheduled visitor days, then contact us for possible

alternative dates. In addition, we live and work at our home, so please

understand that we are NOT able to handle drop-in visits.

Also, if you are thinking of coming as a group, our lot is very small and

is only able to accommodate 10 people at max -- with some exceptions

Tours will take approximately 1 - 2 hours.


FEES

 

Due to the popularity that our project is receiving, we believe that it should be

a ‘win, win’ situation for all involved.

 

We ask that if you are unable to donate a small fee (which will be used for

web hosting fees, printing costs & community outreach, programs &

services), you kindly barter by bring something from our wish list (below)

  • Individuals: Barter or donation*

  • Elementary and high schools: Free or barter*

  • Classes charging an enrollment fee or "for profit" groups: $8.00 per person

  • Non-profit groups: Donation or barter*

* Barter:  Useful items from our wish list below would be gladly and gratefully 

accepted in exchange for our time

 

 

Useful Item 'Wish List':

 

FOOD: Organic produce, fruit, nuts, bread, juice.  Bring a bag of fruit or

veggies to share from your garden!

 

BOOKS: Gardening & self-sufficiency book view Amazon wish list.  

 

ANIMALS: Hay, straw, bird seed.

 

CRAFT: Yarn, fabric, sewing supplies, needles, crochet hooks, loom,

spinning wheel, drop spindle.

 

MAGAZINES: Organic Gardening, Mother Earth, Herb Companion,

Countryside, Natural Home or any permaculture, simple living & DIY

 

GARDEN: Seeds, plants, wood, bricks, rocks, wind chimes, metal garden

ornaments, and more!

 

OTHER:  Handcrafted kitchen, house wares, non scented candles, 5 gal

buckets, recycled paper, print cartridges, laptop, file cabinet, software,

welding equipment, paint, shingles and more!  Email us for more info.
