The costs are co-location and bandwidth... and I know there are gobs of people who host websites for very little, but they ALL limit the bandwidth. And this site gets a lot of bandwidth... Last month was actually a bit slow:

And the site allows all sorts of neat features that depend on the server it runs on... I really don't want to move it off the server to some other site... Also, there are is a lot of content (about 3 gigs) that would have to be transferred... so Co-location is best although more expensive.

But honestly the bulk of the "cost" is the time I have to put into improving and maintaining the site. Interesting code and projects keep turning up and it takes time to get them setup and linked in. I could really use some help editing web pages.

If the site is worth keeping, your donations and on-going support are all that with save it.

On-going support:

Subscriber $7/month. Because the cost of hosting the site is a month to month on-going cost, there is also an option to donate a small amount every month automatically. In return, you will receive a newsletter of new content which will not be available on the site for another month or two. You can stop the subscription at any time and if we do end up closeing the site, the subscription will be stopped automatically.

Supporter $12/month. Subscriber benefits plus a listing as a supporter. (and our un-dying gratitude :o)

Consultant $20/month. As above plus a write up on the resources page (interests, products, web address, etc...) and referrals from anyone who asks for help in an area you supply products or consulting.

Advertiser $50/month. All the above and approved ads on the bottom of the pages and in the newsletter.

Sponsor $150/month. Any bloody thing you want (almost).
