      This looks like what I'm seeking. I'm not an Electrical Engineer, I'm a
      Programmer/DBA; I have a couple of questions. I want to send a signal from
      a RFID scanner by way of a 9-pin VGA cable (I think, I don't have the scanner
      yet), (they say it's transmitting via standard RS-232 interface). I want
      to be able to input a few ID numbers into the application and send a signal
      to open a switch if one of my pre-approved ID numbers gets scanned.<BR>

      Will the "RS-232/I&#178;C-Adapter with Power Regulator A&amp;T w/PS: Assembled
      and tested" for $60 be everything that I need? (Excluding the scanner and
      switch I mentioned).<BR>

      Will this RS-232/I&#178;C-Adapter with Power Regulator A&amp;T w/PS connect
      to a 486 running Windows 95?<BR>
      Do I need a newer computer?<BR>
      Do I really even need a computer connected to it, or can I get by with connecting
      only for the setup?<BR>
