Action:   Make sure that the option is installed correctly. 20 PAPER JAM Meaning: Paper has jammed while exiting the printer. resumes in thirty seconds.   Otherwise, press the Continue/Enter key.   Check the

how much memory various options require.
31 MEMORY ALLOC ERROR Meaning: The printer cannot allocate the memory required to print a job. Action: If the AUTOCONTINU item in the Config Menu is set to ON, printing
resumes in thirty seconds.   Otherwise, press the Continue/Enter key.   Check the
current page for errors.
35 COMM ERROR Meaning: Serial communication error. Action: Turn off the printer.   After a minute, turn the printer back on and then
resend the job.
40 MEMORY OPTION ERROR Meaning: A SIMM module is not properly seated in its slot or is in some other way
defective.
Action: Turn off the printer.   Reseat the SIMM module (see “Installing a SIMM” on
page  99).   If the message recurs after you restart the printer, call for service.
