2. Select the media size for the tray:
a. Depending on the tray you want, press the Item key until you see
TRA1SIZ=size*, TRA2SIZ=size*, TRA3SIZ=size*, AUXSIZE=size*, or
ENVSIZE=size* in the display, where size is the current default.
b. Press the Value + or Value - key until you see the new value you
want.
Notes:
1) For 550-sheet trays (TRA1SIZ, TRA2SIZ, or TRA3SIZ) specify
AUTO whenever you use the following paper sizes: LETTER,
LEGAL, FOLIO, A4, B5-JIS, A5, or EXEC.
2) For information about defining custom sizes, see Defining Custom
Form Sizes on page 50.
c. Press the Enter key to select the new size. An asterisk appears next to
the value, showing that it is active.
3. Select the media type for the tray:
a. Depending on the tray you want, press the Item key until you see
TRAY1TYPE=type*, TRAY2TYPE=type*, TRAY3TYPE=type*, AUX
TYPE=type*, or ENVTYPE=type* in the display, where size is the
current default.
b. Press the Value + or Value - key until you see the new value you
want.
Note: You can set the type to CUST1-CUST5 to specify up to five
unique media types. If you specify a tray type as CUST, the
printer will not print from the tray unless the print application
or print driver specifically requests a media type of CUST.
CUST sets the fuser temperature as if the media type were plain
paper. Do not use CUST for labels, transparencies, or other
media that have special fusing temperature requirements.
c. Press the Enter key to select the new size. An asterisk appears next to
the value, showing that it is active.
4. To exit menu mode, press the Online key.
Selecting the Default Input Tray
Situation: You want to change the default input tray for your printer.
Action:
1. Press the Menu key until you see PAPER MENU in the display.
2. Press the Item key until you see SOURCE=source* in the display, where
source is the current default.
