Subject:        Cameo PEP printer for Hilton

Dear Eric,

The Cameo-3 PEP printer XXCP99-11-0002 is the latest printer. We did change the serial numbers as I suspected before we shipped them to you. This printer supports Saflok Wide Keys, Timlox DC-1, Tessa and VingCard. Below are the files I promised you they are as follows:

1)Pro_manF.pdf- Comtec Printer Programming Manual in PDF format
 2) MCE_protocol.doc - Specification of the magnetic card encode (MCE) command used for encoding Magnetic cards in a PEP printer.

3) sflklbw.txt- Print stream for Sample Label and Magnetic Card Encode Command - This file prints a demo checkin file and encodes a key

4) CMYLOG.PCX, SAFELOX.PCX, SYMBOL.PCX - Picture files used in demo checkin file.
5) Bau08pt2.cpf- Comtec Prescaled font used in Demo checkin file.
6) ScnPrt.prc - Symbol Palm sample app to receive a file  and send to Comtec Printer via IrDA

To use the demo (sflklbw.txt) you must first flash the PCX and .cpf files.

Instructions for Flashing PCX Files:

   i) Connect PEP printer to PC com1 port.
ii) Start Label Vista and Select Printer->Com Port Setup menu and verify Com1, 19200 selected
iii)Send PCX files using Printer -> Send Picture menu and use browse option for CMYLOG.PCX, SAFELOX.PCX, SYMBOL.PCX  files

iv) Verify files are flashed using  Printer-> Read Files menu

To Flash Comtec Prescaled Font File ( Bau08pt2.cpf) select Printer-> Send Font menu

Next you can send the sample file sflklbw.txt using the Printer-> Send File menu. Once the file is sent the printer should beep once and the yellow LED should flash. You can swipe a card and if it is successful you should hear 3 beeps and then the sample receipt should print.

To use the ScnPrt.prc you need to load the program into the palm pilot and then use select the Receive File Menu Item. Send the sflklbw.txt file using the Printer-> Diagnostic Send menu. Once you receive the file you should point the Palm IrDA at the PEP printer at a less than 6 inches and select the Print menu item. This will turn on the printer and send the same file you sent via cable (sflklbw.txt).

Please note that the sample MCE string in the sflklbw.txt file is an example that we created using a Saflok encoder and keying in the string that we read from the key they made. Saflok encrypts the data and uses a date code so this string has expired.

If you have any questions please call me at 1-800-556-7266 x340.
