We have several VFD driven 4160V motors. Very frequently, the 5kV power cable develops blisters on it's outer jacket. It's not overcurrent, because the conductors are OK. I think it's over-voltage that can cause jacket damage ( BIL issue ? ). Have been trying to figure out why there should be an over-voltage ( if my premise is correct ) at all.
