All is ok for C1 to C5 (C6 and C7) are used by the USART) but I can't get the info from C0 pin. Is there something that I didnt understand because I didn't read any limitations about this pin in the 16f877 datasheet ! Sullivan added 'Questions: Is anyone else working with the ETT CP16F877 Development Board? When I first got the board, I was very impressed. It is ready for I2C EEPROM, DS1307 RTC, 232/422/485, onboard power supply, I/O header and software. Now I am past the checkout process and trying to develop. The in-circuit programming circuit appears to be tying up RB3. RB3 is pin 36 on the '877 40-pin version. It is used for low-voltage programming as well a general purpose I/O. The programming circuit has the output of a 74ls07 hex buffer, tied high with 10k ohms to Vcc. The input is tied low through 5.6k ohms. So RB3 stays low all the time! I wanted to use RB3 to toggle an LED on and off. With the hex buffer holding the line low, the LED is on all the time. My plan is to remove the 5.6k resistor and see if programming is affected. I welcome any comments on this development board, as well as solutions to my problem.
