CharNextExA info  Overview  Group

The CharNextExA function retrieves the pointer to the next character in a string. This function can handle strings consisting of either single- or multi-byte characters.

LPSTR CharNextExA(

    WORD CodePage,

// identifier of the code page

    LPCSTR lpCurrentChar,

// pointer to current character

    DWORD dwFlags

// reserved; must be zero

   );

Parameters

CodePage
Identifier of the code page to use to check lead-byte ranges. Can be one of the code-page values provided in the “Code-Page Identifiers” table in Unicode and Character Set Constants or one of the following predefined values:

Use system default ANSI code page.

CP_ACP

Use system default ANSI code page.

CP_OEMCP

Use system default OEM code page.

lpCurrentChar
Pointer to a character in a null-terminated string.
dwFlags
Reserved; must be zero.

Return Values

The return value is a pointer to the next character in the string, or to the terminating null character if at the end of the string.

If lpCurrentChar points to the terminating null character, the return value is equal to lpCurrentChar.
