Thank you very much for software that actually works. I used to do 16 bit binary (TMR1) to BCD by testing each bit and then adding its decimal value to the output. About 250 lines of code. The new algo I got here, does it in 50 lines!

    I am trying to mate an incremental rotary encoder to my 8 inch rotary table to read angles to at least .03 degree. the encoder will be friction driven directly from the table edge which has less than .0015 TIR (total run out). This will negate any backlash between the worm and gear. The encoder has 1000 PPR and is dual channel with index, it is a BEI EX11. I have a 2x16 LCD with an HD 44780 controller, purchase through mass mind back in 2013.

    I can handle the physical mating of the encoder and the rotary table but need help with the electronics and display.

    I am willing to pay any reasonable amount that an old, 84 year young retiree, on social security can afford.
