David Lee Newton, age 79, of White Cloud, passed away on Friday, December 16, 2016, at his home. David was born on June 12, 1937, in Big Rapids to Roy and Dorothy (Crammond) Newton and married Linda Joyce Scott on September 17, 1969, in Big Rapids. David had been a machinist at Hanchett Manufacturing in Big Rapids and also Hitachi in Big Rapids. David enjoyed boating spending countless hours sailing and building boats.

David is survived by his wife, Linda Joyce Newton; children, Linda Mae (John) Toniolo of Chicago, Dawn Joyce (Robert) LeDuc of Rapid River, Michigan, and David Scott Newton of White Cloud; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; and brother, Glenn (Jo) Newton of Minnesota. David was preceded in death by his brother, Jim Newton.

There will be private family services at a later time. For a lasting memorial, friends are asked to consider the Retired Senior Volunteer Program (14485 Northland Drive Big Rapids, MI 49307).
