i am doing a project in pic 16f873 interfaced with xicor 1226 RTC which has a feature of dual alarm for polling the alarm match i have to check bit 5(al0)of status register whose address is 3f the xicorchip also has 8 registers for setting the time ,date and day of the week for AM/PM indication i have to clear /set bit5 of hour register whose address is 32 if it is 1 then PM and 0 for AM my problem is if i set PM then al0(i.e)bit5 of status register is also set so the buzzer rings ,i want to know why it happens?and how to debug this problem?
