Hi! I am new in PIC design and I have to do a difficult thing for me. Another microprocessor will program 18LF8525. I want to use low power ICSP to avoid extra 5V. In this case I will not be able to use bulk erase. so what? is it so important? Is there any application note about the hardware and the protocol about this subject? Regards. Gurol.

Here's data for the PICkit 2 v1.20 and pyk version 1.42 (on 64-bit Linux):
10F206: 5.8 seconds
12F675: 5.1 seconds
16F876a: 50.0 seconds
18F2520: 39.6 seconds
pyk performs one readback only. The only M'chip references I could find for multi-voltage readback were for OTP parts. pyk has code to do low-voltage readback, but it is not used because pyk doesn't support OTP parts.
pyk doesn't filter out "blank" data, so the times are the same with blank data and random data.

Using a PICkit2 (1 Verify) to program a 12F675, I get times of 10.6 seconds for both the full and empty cases. This is using PICkit2 software version 1.21.
Cheers,
