I am looking for tips on how to wire as many LEDs as possible using only three ouput pins. I can not connect the LEDs to power or ground and only one LED may be lit at a time. Also, there must be a point where all LEDs are not lit. I know that the output pins are tristate pins but am having trouble solving this problem. Any help is appreciated.

Looking for a 16bit word from externel adc and sample may be 10 times and average it to get a stable value. Then display the final results on the character LCD. I know how to control the LCD, I have routines for that. Only need the code to average a 16 bit word 10 times.
Thanks

Reading the 16F87XA datasheet I've noticed that in this family there are two new modes for Slave operation. In this two modes you get interrupts after Start and Stop conditions in the bus wich is sweet because you can determine the end of a transmission without relying on the undocumented feature of the R/W bit holding ACK value.
The problem now is that the S bit is set to 1 during all the transfer and it's not writable, so it can't be used to determine wether the present interrupt is being raised by a Start condition or by any other event. Furthermore, the value stored by the Status bits in an interrupt raised by an Start condition is undocumented, both in AN734 and in the 16F87XA Datasheet.
Has anyone found a way to work arround this problem?
Does anybody now if the SSP still locks up using this modes?
If it does so, can the interrupt raised by the Stop condition be used to reset the logic in some way?
