None of the links to PICUART.zip work. Google turns up nothing, nor any relevant links off usenet. If anyone has a copy, I'd be happy to host it on my server. -Reza

You need to reset the data latch each time since when configured as an input, the pin reads high and that state goes into the PORTB register as a '1'. When you change it to an output, it's still set to a '1' so it just drives the pin high instead of sinking it like you were expecting. It's another one of those Read-Modify-Write gotchas... well, sort of.

I'm trying to step behind the programming of Pics but I'm having difficulties to get information. The Intel-Hex files are always organized in bytes, right? But now the programming memory of a 16f628 is 14 bit wide... How does that work now? do they use two bytes and just don't use the 2 spare bits of the most seginificant byte or do they write everything in sequence and I have to put them together and afterwards taking packages of 14?

I hope anyone can help me...

thank you David ON 20030625@7:49:08 AM at page: http://www.piclist.commicrochip/routines.htm JMN-EFP-786 James Newton removed post 37796.8641319444 |Delete '

    Hi...

    I'm beginner...

Just to get some view of PIC...
I have digital circuit that have 6 inputs and 4 outputs..

It's possible to replace my digital circiut( 9 gates) with PIC..if possible...which type PIC should I use..

    thnks for advice
