I've been working with Microchip's appnote,AN828 about Measuring temperature with 16F84A watchdog timer.Have anyone built it?I have some problem since I'm a beginner in programming PIC.
I duplicate the operation (hardware an software),but I'm using 16F84.It's seem that the device is intend to reset because of WDT time-out,I already added clrwdt instruction in the every beginning of the loop instruction. When I try to calibrate the device by pushing set button, the diplay show 'HI' and Temp HI alternately, but when I push the UP (PORTB<4>) and DOWN(PORTB<5>) button,it didn't affect the display. It seems that the device didn'T read it as input. I think the problem is RB4-RB7 are used as both output and input when calibrating.PORTB<4>-<7> is quickly switched from output to input and to output again,so I don't know when is the right time to push the UP/DOWN button. When the device in the sleep mode,I push the TEMP button to show the current temp but it didn't work. Can anyone help me with for this problem?Which part of the program I should modify?Or suggest troubleshooting for this app.I already post the source code, too.
I also have some questions :
1. PortB interrupt can wake the device from sleep. Can it interrupt a routine in normal operation?
2. If the TMR0 overflows, what will happen?
Sorry to give you so much trouble. Thank you for your help.
