Hi James,
I have built your circuit first on PCB and flashed the PIC. It didn't work.
I thought, maybe i had a mistake on my PCB, so i built it on a Breadboard. It didn't work again.
I observed that the multiplexing works (see the squarewave on RB0-RB3 with scope). But the BCD-Code on RA0-RA3 dosen't change. I see just a squarewave on RA0 and RA1-RA3 are dead.
The 1. Digit shows the number 1 and other digites shows 0. All digits flicking strongly and nothing happend wenn i push the buttons 1 and 2 but when i push the button 3, all digits chenge to off and the PIC goes realy hot. I have to disconnect the Power.
When i test the circuit without the PIC and give the BCD codes to 4511 manually, it works fine. It tells me, that the wiring should be OK.
Do you have any idea, what could be wrong? Please help me to find the bug because i'm not good in assembler.
