I'm trying to develop interface progam to SHT11 sensor . (http://www.sensirion.com ) I am having some problems with connecting sht11 to computer parallel port in MS DOS platform. I'm download some sample coding form (http://vitsch.net/gpl/tempsensor/)I'm modify it,(put usleep to sleep and comment all line in FILE pointer feilds) but it has some error call "device timed out " Could you please help me?

Hi,
I am having trouble with my Maxim DS18S20 sensor which I am trying to interface with PIC16F877. To test the sensor, I am trying to transmit the temperature byte by implementing USART. I dont think I am doing the USART initialization properly coz I get nothing on that pin. Can you pls help me out here? I just need to find out what registers need to be set and what bits... the order of all of them. I would really appreciate any help I can get on this. Thank you very much.
