WORKING EXPERIENCE

February - Now, 2000

• Web based code generators to generate highly optimized code in PIC assembly. Written in C++ as a CGI application (Tools used: MPLAB, MS Visual C++ 5.0). The code generators include:

Work at Automation Department of The National Mining University of Ukraine:

1997-2000

Work on automation of mining processes including automated control of branched conveyor lines and power distribution system. As a result of this work I have strong experience in embedded software and hardware development. In particular, programming in C/C++, Delphi, assembly language (PIC), Digital Signal Processing, serial communication (I²C, RS232, Manchester, CAN bus). Projects:

• CAN bus application in mines (diploma work). Studied explosion safety, connection of multiple CAN lines into a system. Developed prototypes of CAN repeater and RS232 to CAN adaptor. (Chips: PIC16F877, MCP2510. Tools:  HiTech PIC C, MPLAB, Delphi, MATLAB), 2000;

• Developed I²C to RS232 converter subsystem for mining conveyor automation system (PIC16F84, software I²C Slave), 1999;

• Non-contact mining conveyor load estimator (PIC16F876, ADC, digital signal processing, RS232). This project has won first place in Ukrainian Contest for Best Student Work in Social and Technical Sciences in 1999.

Self-employed:

January 2000

• Electrostimulator (PIC16F873, ADC, peak detector, PWM, RS232, computer link, frequency and level modulation, microcurrents measurement). Programmed in HI-TECH PIC C.

1998

• Dental technician tool (PIC16F84, wax temperature stabilization, software PWM, three digit 7-segment LED indicator, two point software calibration). Used PCAD 4.5 to prepare the PCB for manufacturing.

In all these projects I was the main developer. Also, I have about 5-year experience in assembly language programming for several other microprocessors (Z80, 8086).

My most strong areas are:

• Code optimization in speed and size;
• Digital signal processing using low cost microcontrollers;
• Math routines in assembly language (fixed and floating point);
• Real Time processing;
• Serial communication;
