|Insert 'The &a#h#V command uses decipoints or 720ths of an inch. So 5/32 = 0.15625 * 720 = 112. The # before the H is the horizontal position in the 4th quadrant (e.g. larger numbers move to the right) so you want to change the 7400 to 7512. I would be curious to know what your application program is?' at: ''

I'm having trouble with a new bank accepting laser printed checks because of the positioning of the MICR line. They tell me the entire MICR line needs to be moved 5/32" to the right. The PCL values in the micr table of our application is &a940h7400V
What value would shift it 5/32" to the right?

James Newton replies: Print the font list from the printer front panel. Look at the codes used to select the CPI of the font. Not all fonts will work.

|Insert 'I'm not sure I understand what you mean by "moving the cursor on" but I assume you want the cursor to stay in or return to the place it was before you typed the character. I also don't understand how that applies to registration between layers. However...
- You can save the cursor position before and restore it after each character with the &f#S commands.
- A carrage return without a line feed will return the cursor to the start of the line without advancing down the page if you have end of line termination set to &k0G.
- The cursor can be returned to the start of the page with *p0x0Y after any amount of text has been printed, without triggering a page eject as long as the text does not exceed the bottom margin of the page.

iant@mailbox.co.uk asks:
How do I type the same character (or pattern) twice without moving the cursor on or stepping the paper on? We are trying to use PCL in a final year project at university to print a mask for an integrated circuit application where exact registration between the printed layers will be critical... We are not very familar with PCL and HP don't seem to want to help. Many thanks

Hi,
I would like to ask, is that possible to print duplex on certain page only? This is because I need to print a Delivery Order, which the terms and condition will be at the back of first page. This means only first paper will printed both side (front and back), and the other pages will be printed in every new paper. I am sending oracle report from from oracle e-suites.
Looking for your help. Thanks in advance.
