Forms overlay from MS Word for Windows

  1. In MS Word version 6 through 8 (aka MS Word '97), position your cursor at the very begining of the document. If the document has a header, open the header (View / Header/Footer); if the document does not have a header, move to the top of the document.  Select Insert and then Field.  From the [all] Category, select the Print field name.  In the Field Codes text edit control, add 27"&f#y4X" (including the quotes )after the word PRINT ; replace the # with the macro ID of the form, signature or logo.  For example: if the form macro ID number is 91, enter 27"&f91y4X". Click on OK to insert the field.
  2. Select Tools / Options and the View tab. In the Show area check the Field Codes checkbox. Click on OK.
  3. Locate the field on the page (it will appear inside {curly braces}) and verify that it appears as:
       {PRINT 27"&f#y4X" \*MERGEFORMAT }
    where # is replaced by the macro ID of the form, signature or logo. The 27 will be translated into an ASCII Escape character
  4. Turn off the field-code display turned on in step 2, by unchecking the Field Codes checkbox.
  5. Print the form.
