The power mains is a 50hz cycle so I have rectified this to give me 100 zero crossing points. The output is to be switched ON/OFF at the zerocross point for up to 100 cycles/sec or 30 on / 70 off for 30% power level with a resolution of 1%. I have tested and debugged my code and now wish to turn on a IGBT. The Mains voltage into the IGBT will be rectified and control a 2Kw resistive heating element. What do I need to isolate the PIC output and drive a IGBT 600v 22 Amp device? and if all switching is to be at the zerocross point how hot will the IGBT actually get? Do I need a large or small heatsink. Thanks Dennis' ON 20020714@4:55:43 PM at page: http://www.piclist.com/techref/language/html/index.htm JMN-EFP-786 James Newton edited the page
