|Insert 'You should ALWAYS worry about spikes and so on going back into your PC. Especially with high power connections like this one. A good opto-isolated IO board would be nice to have, although I've found them to be very expensive. I personally use an old '286 computer that I really don't worry about frying for all my experiments. People are giving them away all the time.

I and working on a PC interface board with some very low tech, low cost optical isolation for the hobby market and I hope to have something ready soon. For now, just be careful.

If I use your linistepper boards do I have to worry about Electro Magnetic Feedback from the motors going into my PC? Hi, I am using a 4 stepper board for a hot wire machine, and am looking to improve on what I have  .. my motors are 7.4 v 1 amp 200 step vexta  pk 266 o/a c23. ( if this is  important.) I am using a pc power supply for my existing board , as well as for running the motors. I also have a spare 24 v ac 10 amp transformer . I'm told that that will give +- 34 volts dc 10 amp. I also hope to use master5 or mach1 or 2 for step and direction .<BR>
your home page says that I supply volts, heat sink &amp; mounting bracket , unipolar motors and step and direction. <BR>
one of the reasons that I'm thinking of upgrading is the resistors that I realy need to opimise the motor performance, they're clumsy and large. <BR>
I am also thinkibg of going the way of belts instead of thread and all the possible steps that you can supply will help.<BR>
one of your photos shows a secondary board and 555 timer and dip switches .<BR>
Q will power supply of 34 v dc 10 amp using motors 7.4 v 1 amp per phase work with your boards without modifying the resistors.<BR>
and is the secondary board advisable , and if so is it available .<BR>
finaly the cost of kits for 4 boards to Cape town South Africa.<BR>
