Creating a Query Form

Three types of files make a query form work. These files have the following file-name extensions:

• .htm
• .idq
• .htx

All three of these files must be in a virtual directory defined in Internet Service Manager. The .idq and .htx files must be in the /IisSamples/IsSamples virtual directory, which is physically located in C:\InetPub\IisSamples\IsSamples, or in another virtual directory with both Read and Execute (or Script) permissions. By default, Index Server installs Ixtourqy.htm, Ixtourqy.idq, and Ixtourqy.htx in the directory mapped to /IisSamples/IsSamples.

• Controlling the Search (.Idq File): Shows how to control the search through the sample Ixtourqy.idq file.
• Formatting the Results (.Htx File): Shows how results are formatted in the sample Ixtourqy.htx file.
