This is a record of my last attempt to use the FedEx shipping service at the request of a customer who wanted the package shipped on his FedEx account number, to his address. Please note that this is presented in reverse cronological order, with the most recient entries at the top and so must be read from the bottom up. Also, please note that my customers FedEx account number and address were checked, with the customer, no less than three times and I was absolutly assured that both were correct. Finally, note that I recieved no reply to this last email response.

Subject FedEx Ship Manager at fedex.com (online shipping): Label Did Not Print Discussion Thread Response (Farrah) 12/18/2006 01:53 PM Thank you for using FedEx Online Support.
If by "recipients reference" you mean that I needed to type something in the box that is labeled "Your reference" then.
Yes, it has to be coming from your recipient.

FedEx Technical SupportCustomer (James Michael Newton) 12/18/2006 01:43 PM I included their address and their FedEx account number. What else do you need? Are you even looking at:
http://www.massmind.org/fedup.png ?
If by "recipients reference" you mean that I needed to type something in the box that is labeled "Your reference" then:
- Why isn't that called just reference (under recipient) or "recipients reference" and:
- Why is that field not bolded to indicate that it is a required field and:
- Why does the error message say that the problem is with my account?
Again, your response makes no sense. But I'm enjoying spending your time on these questions.

James.Response (Farrah) 12/18/2006 10:58 AM Thank you for using FedEx Online Support.
We apologize for the inconvenience, however, for you to bill the recipient you will need to include a recipient's reference.
Thank you for choosing FedEx.
Sincerely,
Farrah
FedEx Technical SupportCustomer (James Michael Newton) 12/15/2006 09:33 PM The reply given here makes no sense to me and does not seem to address the question. Again, what is wrong with my account? Why can I not ship a package, ESPECIALLY considering that I was being asked by the recipient to bill their FedEx account number; who cares what is up with my account if the billing is going to the recipients account?
Please actually read the description and look at the screen shot here:

James.Response (Farrah) 12/15/2006 07:20 PM Thank you for using FedEx Online Support.
In answer to your question, the reference information or reference each time you ship is assigned to a specific recipient. You will need to include that along with the Account Number.
For future reference to this issue, please refer to case number 19638720.
Thank you for choosing FedEx.
Sincerely,
Farrah

Comments: Why can't I ship something that is billed to the recipients account?
See:
http://www.massmind.org/fedup.png for a screen shot of your web interface preventing me from taking care of our mutial customer.
It is clearly set to "bill to recipient" and there account number is entered. But the message is that something about my account prevents you from shipping it.
I can't find anything in the "My Account" screens that shows a problem with my account.
And if there is a problem with my account, why didn't it tell me that when I logged in, BEFORE I spent my time typing all that in?
This is why I don't use you anymore.
