• James Newton replies: If I remember correctly, a perfect converter would produce a peak to peak AC voltage of 1.414 times the input voltage. Nothing is ever perfect, of course, so the actual output would be less than that. Also, most converters would be able to adjust the voltage at the same time it is converted so the output voltage on a real unit would be whatever the unit was designed to produce.
