A little bit of brain fog had crept in. I eventually recalled that=20 the low-temp versions of LM7805 and LM7812 have suffixes of "BT"=20 rather than "CT". So I took a chance and did a Google search for=20 LM317BT rather than the "117" or "217" variants. Presto: Digikey has the LM317BT in stock. Datasheet says the=20 temperature range is -40 through 125C - completely adequate! I greatly appreciate the suggestions! I really like asking questions like this, even if they turn out to be=20 "dumb". I love learning from people much smarter and more=20 experienced than myself.
