The app note has great info to keep me going for a while. Another thing that intrigued me was the grid sync. Supposedly when transitioning from stand alone to grid tied, the system needs to lock on to the grid before it connects to it. The method that it uses is not the issue for me, the thing is if it is working off grid powering some devices and then needs to adjust the waveform to match the grid for connection, how do they adjust it without damaging the devices? Is there some sort of rule on this? This will have to be done by slightly change the frequency, I guess. I will check the app note, it probably explains it.
