All outpu= ts are 220/240 VAC, in parallel and connected to the power utility through = the electrical panel. There is an aggregator that communicates to the inver= ters through the AC line. Its job is to manage/monitor the inverters, inter= net access, and provide information to the user. Synchronization is probabl= y fairly basic (although simple things can be quite difficult in practice!)= , since the job of the inverters is to provide current in phase and roughly= sinusoidal. I say roughly because the job of the inverter is not to force = the utility to become a sine wave, but rather to provide current in proport= ion to an ideal sine wave within the limits of the inverter and also the cu= rrently available solar panel output power. Electrical safety is primarily = handled within the inverters. That's about all I know. Friendly regards, Bob ________________________________________ From: piclist-bounces@mit.edu on behalf of Luis M= oreira=20 Sent: Saturday, July 31, 2021 5:32 AM To: Microcontroller discussion list - Public. Subject: [EE]: Solar Micro Inverters Hi all, Long time since posting here. I started having a look at solar micro inverters and although I can understand the principle of them and why you would use them, I'm failing to find more detailed info.. Do you guys have any links for detailed descriptions for them that you would like to share? My immediate questions are: - On the grid tied systems, are they all in effect connected in parallel and with the grid directly or is there some sort of "aggregator" in place? - do they have a short term storage device like a battery/capacitor internally for the intermediate DC/DC converter or does it have some sort of direct DC/DC/AC converter? - how does the sync circuit work? it probably needs to be faster than a normal inverter circuit or the wasted energy while trying to lock would be too high. Any diagrams and algorithms would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advanced Best Regards Luis --=20 http://www.piclist.com/techref/piclist PIC/SX FAQ & list archive View/change your membership options at http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/piclist .
