I've also had web developers apply for embedded dev positions, and had welders apply for a soldering position. This is the mentality that even their educational institutions recommend... apply for everything and anything w/o even reading what it's about. I had always felt that the job posting sites need to start charging a nominal fee to apply for each position. Upwork does it, and IMO it works. Either way, look at groups like this, or IIRC jack Ganselle's website or newsletter has a job-posting section.
