I did several products with the PIC32MX almost 10 years ago and am still maintaining the code and adding features. I'm still using MPLAB 8 (8.62 I think, whatever the latest is). I tried converting to MPLAB-X, and it did not go well. LOTS of error messages, and I didn't want to take all the time to fix it. So, it's still MPLAB 8 and PIC Kit 3. Works well for me!
