to make the above bit of code more readable it looks like

 ...
  "var pidupdate=3D'  " STRING_PREAMBLE "  ' +ID+ ' , ' +posVal;
console.log('pidupdate:'+pidupdate); "
 ...
"));

I will try with variations using the ascii code.
