Hi there, Harold. Make sure the SIP to RJ adaptor is not backwards. Depending on=20 exactly **which** RJ adapter you are using, the pin order for the RJ=20 cable may be backwards. This has bit me in the past. Root cause of the problem is that Microchip kept the RJ-12 connectors=20 same way up on their cables. This has the effect of reversing the=20 conductors from one end of the cable to the other. Compounding this problem is that Microchip supplies SIP to RJ=20 adaptors for some of the header boards. These are, I think, pinned=20 out to adapt a RJ-12 connector on the header board to a SIP connector=20 on the target. They will NOT work when trying adapt a PICkit device=20 to a RJ-12 connector on a target board. I could be out to lunch here but this is something that you should=20 look at. I avoid this problem by making my own RJ to SIP cables with=20 both ends clearly marked as to which way they go. dwayne At 03:51 PM 8/19/2019, Harold Hallikainen wrote: >I'm working on an update for some old code for a PIC16F506.
