Hi Russel, Thank you for sharing that picture of New Zealand from Space! its a very beautiful country and was a great back drop for the Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit movies! I have always wanted to see New Zealand and Austrailia but the closest I ever got was a brief tour at a US Coast Guard Loran C radio station In Hokkaido Japan. It was a dream of lifetime for me and if I ever create a PIC microcontroller project that makes super Weathly I will venture down under and to New Zealand as a side trip Michael Johnston On Wed, Mar 27, 2019 at 5:56 AM RussellMc wrote: > NASA ISS photo of NZ South Island in 2003 after a '50-year' blizzard. > (Rarity, not duration :-).) > > Relatively few New Zealanders see the impressive expanse of the NZ Southe= rn > Alps + Kaikoura Range and many people have no real impression of how > extensive and rugged the mountains are. > An Auckland-Christchurch flight and a window seat on a clear day provides > awesome views. > > In Christchurch on a clear winter day the alps form a 200 or so degree > backdrop to the city and from a suitable viewing point stretch from horiz= on > to horizon (with the sea taking up the other 160 degrees). > I have a many-many-many shot panorama thereof.
