Sorry to drag up such an old thread but did you ever get to the bottom of
this Justin? I just moved into a new house with one of the A/C controllers
(funnily enough, I'm also in Perth) and was hoping ti interface to it.  Thi=

thread is the ONLY one online that has anything to do with people trying to
hack these controllers.  I was wondering if maybe they communicate via RS48=
5
or something? If no comms is hackable I'll just wire to the buttons and
LED's like you mentioned.  Anyway, it was a good read, you put a lot of
effort into trying to suss this thing out!
