Just FYI, I was unaware till yesterday that these things exist. https://www.amazon.com/AAA-Batteries-Rechargeable-Charging-Pre-Charged/dp/B= 07D1LMMDD The capacity of the cells in the link is 400mAh, which is WORSE than carbon= zinc. The output voltage I saw was over 1.7V which could be a problem for some de= signs. Many LDOs have a max Vin of 5.5V which is perfectly safe with 1.5V a= lkaline cells. They have a small SMPS (buck?) that is ALWAYS operating, with a voltage rip= ple of about 150mV on the cells I tested. These cells create a large amount of RF noise, even when not loaded and sit= ting in their plastic cases. When loaded, the noise spectrum changes as you'd expect, making the interfe= rence worse or better depending on your specific system. Basically, a disaster for any noise sensitive electronics that might be rel= ying on batteries to be a QUIET power source. -- David VanHorn Lead Hardware Engineer Backcountry Access, Inc. 2820 Wilderness Pl, Unit H Boulder, CO 80301 USA phone: 303-417-1345 x110 email: david.vanhorn@backcountryaccess.com --=20 http://www.piclist.com/techref/piclist PIC/SX FAQ & list archive View/change your membership options at http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/piclist .
