I have acquired one of mine from work. My old job was with a high speed IO company and they considered 1GS four channel scope as slow, 10 years back. Obsolescence and high cost of repair are the main reasons why the companies get rid of them. Although I paid a reasonable price for this Agilent equipment, the scope is too big to fit on my desk. I still have one with CRT :-) Try to see if you can buy an obsolete one (100MHz or better) from your local semiconductor companies. Dumpster diving in tech area is another alternative. I saw quite a few on craigslist as well. Of-course you can buy a Rigol two channel in case there is nothing available.
