I don't like the Agilent digital scopes, they don't fit with my mental proc= esses. The other trick I have found is that they use WinXP as the underlyin= g operating system, and one we had used Excel to handle all the screen grap= hing functions, which made it horrendously slow, as the underlying processo= r hardware was not exactly up to the job of handling all the MS software at= an acceptable speed. I find the Tektronix scopes suit my mental processes much better. The low e= nd ones seem to have reasonable functions at acceptable prices, and all the= 4000 series and down do not use Windows as the underlying operating system= .. The higher end ones do, with the oscilloscope application running on top,= although this appears to be a proprietary app rather than a hidden MS appl= ication to display the waveforms. Similar to the Agilent ones, I find the Philips originated 'scopes marketed= by Fluke don't fit my mental processes, the European way of thinking is di= fferent to mine in the way the inner workings are set up. The Philips origi= nated line are discoverable as models containing P at the beginning of the = model number. --=20 http://www.piclist.com/techref/piclist PIC/SX FAQ & list archive View/change your membership options at http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/piclist .
