It is large (as in very bloated) and slow. Its interface seems to be using = underlying Netbeans for its features, and Microchips usage of these feature= s doesn't seem to be well implemented. You seem to need a real stonker of a= machine with heaps of memory to run it at any speed. The continually reported problems maintaining connection to any ICD, Pickit= or RealICE. Some people have continuous problems just getting a connection= while others don't seem to have a problem, and it doesn't appear to be OS = platform dependant, judging by comments on the Microchip forum. The introdu= ction of the ICD4 has been a bit of a disaster with what seems to be a not = properly tested interface. Bugs don't seem to get fixed with new releases. Each new release seems to p= roduce its own new set of problems. --=20 http://www.piclist.com/techref/piclist PIC/SX FAQ & list archive View/change your membership options at http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/piclist .
