Hi. If you use an external crystal *oscillator*, it will comply with the term "external clock" which according to the errata *will* work.=20 The errata is also referring to the feature "Primary Oscillator Crystal". It also says that rev A3 *does* work with a crystal and there is also the normal crystal-with-two-caps circuit as an example for A3.
