I'm using the PICFF73 choice. The part acts like it's a C73, but it's marked F73. When I choose F73, I get a mismatch on the device code. Under the Programmer tab (at least in MPLAB 8.85), there there is an Erase = Flash Device option. Since the PIC16F7X datasheet shows the primary difference between the 16F73 and 16LF73 to be the range of the operating voltage, can't you use th= e PIC16F73 choice for your project?
