Well, the auto manufacturers put the starting batteries under the hood, and= optimas are (presumably) designed for that service. What I need for my load is occasional operation with the engine off, and su= staining idle drain (3A ish) for as much as an hour after key off. I also have to factor in the rather limited space where the battery can liv= e. Under the front passenger seat is about as good as it's going to get, o= therwise I need long runs back behind the rear seats, which is a couple sor= ts of problems.
