The plates in flooded cells pretty much just hang there, though the whole b=
attery design for automotive is designed to optimize tolerance for heat, co=
ld, and vibration, as well as "cold cranking amps" at the expense of amp-ho=
urs.

If the problem has to do with plates cracking or active material getting se=
parated from the plates then I don't think the electrolyte form matters.
