On the one hand, think of it as evolution in action, with thanks to

On the other hand, the human population that occupies cities seems to
have developed habitat limitations through financial and regulatory
capture, and children can derive immense benefit from transfer of
property as consequence of early death of property-owning parent.  ;-)

Inheritance impatience and selfishness, perhaps.
