sounds about right. I've not used the 25k22 but do use the 14k22 a bit so
guessing they are very similar

I have these two tests after setting OSCCON and OSCTUNE

         btfss   osccon,hfiofs  ;IRC stable
         bra     $-2

         btfss   osccon2,hfiofl ;IRC locked
         bra     $-2

When setting up an unfamiliar osc config I'll test it by btg-ing a pin in a=
=20
loop
with a delay (eg nominal 1ms on/off) to view on the scope / frequency meter
to check that it got set correctly
