Assuming I'm not completely off base here.... A couple minutes of using the Google augmented memory tool finds this version. http://www.bowdenshobbycircuits.info/page5.htm#4017-2.gif (555 feeding a 4017 for a ten step sequencer) If you configured the 555 to be 50mS on and 200mS off then tied your lights to outputs 1, 4, 5 and reset the counter at nine, you'd be pretty close to the described goal. Different combinations of lights can be created via diode OR connections to the individual outputs. Different patterns with integer multiples of the base time can be created by selecting different combinations of outputs and reset placement.
