If this is out of range for PICLIST please advise. I have installed a 17.5 KW propane fueled Generac emergency power=20 system at my residence. Originally I elected to leave the heat pump disabled during power=20 outages but a little testing has led me to believe that I may be able to=20 include it online with proper controls. There are devices called "Soft Start" that will allow the generator to=20 be cycled up under reduced load and extended time start up. I am=20 seeking information for this type of device. It is rumored is there is another strategy involving bigger capacitors=20 and relays to spin up faster. Any info is appreciated. Please, no volumes of safety advice or legal restrictions or junk=20 science heresay. All equipment involved is mine alone and connected=20 services are protected with commercially approved transfer switching. Any information considering prior works or relevant patents is also=20 requested. I do not wish threaten any legal owners of assets. --=20 John Ferrell W8CCW Julian NC 27283 It is better to walk alone, than with a crowd going the wrong direction. --Diane Grant --=20 http://www.piclist.com/techref/piclist PIC/SX FAQ & list archive View/change your membership options at http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/piclist .
