Joe, I hadn't considered Microchip's RF chips, but that would reduce the part count by one. The 12F675 is a good device; it's been my 555 replacement for years. I'm working on a home sensor system and I want to understand the different layers and pieces involved (which isn't the quickest way to have a working system!). Anyway, I hope to have a simple frame/packet layer done today. :) Take care.
